CoFounder (Business Development, Finance)
To support the strategic decision making and business development of UrbanDataLab, we are looking for an entrepreneurial, collaborative person with hands-on experience in the creation of successful startups.
Your Role
As CoFounder you will take the lead and be fully responsible for business development, marketing and fundraising. You will define strategies and KPIs, set up processes and work hands-on in multiple fields e.g. fundraising with investors, sales and content-marketing, financial reporting and controlling, tooling for internal processes and management and last but not ĺeast recruiting new team-members.

Your Role

- You translate our data storage and processing requirements into state of the art database solutions, with a minimum of guidance.
- You give support to our clients and implement client-specific solutions in form of standardized API’s.
- You manage the security and users access to our infrastructure.
- You continuously evaluate alternatives and optimize the performance .
What we look for
- A University degree (Msc or PhD) in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of working experience with:
- PostgreqSQL/PostGIS and cloud-based storage solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- API design, maintenance, documentation and testing (DjangoREST, WMS, WFS, WCS,etc.)
- Linux, BASH command line and admin experience.
- Docker, Kubernetes, Spark
- Experience with geoprocessing of spatial data (Vector/Raster) is a big plus
- Experience on geoserver, tileserver or similar spatial data backends a plus
- Advanced knowledge in at least one of these programming languages (Python, Java, R)
- Basic knowledge of machine learning concepts is a plus
- Excellent English skills, both written and spoken

Senior ML-Engineer (60%-100%)

Your Role
- Develop and maintain our ML-framework edison for predictive spatiotemporal analysis
- Develop machine learning modules to be applied with real world spatiotemporal data
- Convert prototypes to products and implement them in a scalable environment
- Work with our clients on proof of concepts to solve their «impossible» tasks
What we look for
- «Solution finder» with the ability to think big and work in a team
- University degree (Msc or PhD) in computer science, statistics, mathematics or related fields. Industrial experience in related field is a plus
- Development of data science libraries in either R and/or Python: Data wrangling, visualization, machine learning
- Applied machine learning for tabular data, e.g. with xgboost, catboost, random forests, deep learning etc.
- MLOps on Databricks, Sagemaker and mlflow
- Distributed computing (e.g. via Spark), Docker and mlflow is a plus.
- Integration of additional BI-Tools such as Tableau, QLIK or PowerBI
- Deployments of ML-models as API with testing routines
- Experience to work in agile teams with version control (git) is a must
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, PostGIS) is a plus
- Experience with geodata and geoprocessing is a big plus

What we look for
